It is also important to take a series of other precautions with your travertine pavers, besides sealing. They will still appear, but they are easily cleaned on a sealed paver. Had my driveway and pool deck dyed and sealed. They applied a coating to our travertine decking and pool coping that prevents staining and makes the stone less slippery when wet. The only problem was that there were a lot of thunderstorms on and off which made it challenging for them and us. We were careful to schedule our power-washing and cleaning according to the weather and had our application done two-days before heavy rains. The coating process is far different than standard sealing. There is absolutely no fear of us or our son slipping, even when the patio is wet. Really nice team doing coating and excellent outcome. We can certainly perform the Topical Sealer + non slip additive,but there is a better solution. We have a toddler who had fallen numerous time when just simply walking outside. He carefully walked through our entire paver project and noted the difference between how the application needed to be applied (i.e., travertine in the backyard and pool deck vs. concrete pavers for our driveway and walkways. The installer, Martell, was extremely polite and did an absolutely splendid job and protected areas before applying the coating. The investment is "slightly" more, but the appearance and durability is well worth the cost. Mark came to seal the tile and went above and beyond when a pressure wash company completely messed up prepping the travertine tile on our deck to be sealed. I should have had National Sealing Co come in from the very start instead of trying to save just a few dollars.
